My beautiful JD & her Happy Halloween
This year's costume was fun for JD. I had made a flapper costume for B when she was a wee lass and it was fun! JD decided she'd like to do the same. She picked out which colors she wanted and voila! I think it turned out super fun! And she looked beautiful!
For school we had time to put some makeup on and do her hair. She looked mighty perty!
We didn't have time for that on Halloween, but she's still beautiful, don't ya think?
She was excited to hang out with her cousin TLu because she had decided to have the same costume. It was so much fun to make these for the girls and to see how cute they looked!

Ceej's Halloween
CJ had fun this year. She chose to be a vampire... I made her this vest, glued some bat buttons on it, and just sewed around the top of this piece of black cozy fabric. She wouldn't let me paint her face. She wouldn't let me give her a "peacock" (widow's peak). She wouldn't wear the vampire teeth I bought, even though she's spent the entire last year using up vampire teeth we had leftover from last year's Halloween.
She was happy, I can't really complain about that!

This was her ready for the school costume day and at the parade.
CJ is such a hammer! She was in a much better mood today than for the costume day at school, and boy oh boy was I glad! She was hammin' it up and being great for pics!
She was just so excited to see her cousin, Ethan. We don't get together nearly enough! She could have spent all night hanging out with him. (he's the one next to her in the skeleton mask). They got to play basketball for a few minutes. They were pretty thrilled to see each other!
I think she had a great night, just being able to hang out with her favorite cousins!
B's Halloween
B was really fun this year! I made her this vest out of some remnant fabric I found at JoAnns for about $1. The fringe was a little more but totally worth it!
This was the morning of the girls' halloween festivities at school. B dressed up for the photo shoot, even though she was still in her pjs. We then went to watch the parade at the school. It was frigid cold outside and it was all I could do to get her to keep her hood on and the blanket. I think she enjoyed seeing all of the kids dressed up. I was just freezing. But I guess I enjoyed seeing the kids, too!
At B's playgroup, all the kids dress up and had a lot of fun. Of course, they had to keep the structure, but they added a few games and then the kids walked around to the different offices at Kids Who Count to "trick or treat." It was so cute listening to B say it! I had no idea those sounds/words could even come out of her mouth! I was ecstatic! B's been doing so well with her speech and I am so grateful for Kids Who Count! It is an amazing program and it's wonderful to see B's progress but also the other kids in the program as well!
B is a cheeser! She'll pretty much stand around and say cheese until you put the camera away. I love it!

While the big girls got to jump in the leaves, B decided to be helpful and pick up leaves with Pa. She did a few handfuls, a few leaves at a time. Eventually, I'm sure they'd all get picked up!

A few weeks ago, CJ asked me if I'd ever jumped in a pile of leaves. I said of course! Who hasn't? Stopping short because truth betold, my children have never enjoyed this simple pleasure. SAD!
She asked me if it hurt. I said "hurt?" No, you just rake them up and it's like a big soft, stinky, wet pile of mush.
So now I was on a mission. Find some leaves to let my girlies jump and play in.
I called Ma to ask if we could come rake some of hers. I was hoping they'd be down by this Halloween weekend.
Well, they weren't. I was devastated. Silly to be devastated over something like that, but I was so looking forward to letting CJ finally see what all of the hype was all about and my plan had failed. Eventually, I told myself, that we'd be able to rake Gma's leaves... they couldn't stay on that tree forever!
But when we got there for Halloween, they luckily had a few other trees that had let off just enough leaves to enjoy a perfect jump! It was even more perfect than I had planned!

Year gone by
Isn't amazing how much one can change in a year?
JD looks so much more grown up to me! And I even thought that about last year!
We added retouching to hers and they even wiped out her scar! It's a little strange to see her without it, it's such a part of who she is. It always reminds me of how brave and resilient she is. It's not only a physical trait, but a characteristic of who she truly is. She's so beautiful! It's so hard to believe that she's 10!!!
Now, CJ.... holy cow! She's gone from my little baby, to a big girl. I've had to let her grow up a ton this past year and stop babying her so much. It's been hard, but necessary. She has these new big kid teeth and this awesome new grown up haircut. She's a beautiful little girl!
I am so proud of my school girls and all that they've accomplished within the past year.
I'm proud to call them MINE!

CB Halloween Holla!!!
GT, Lins, Tiff, Robeen
Lindsay and I began working together in the fall of 96.
Robyn started shortly after that and worked in a different dept.
Tiff and I never actually worked together, but we became friends easily!
These girls are so amazing and I am always so comfortable when I hang out with them. These are the best friends anyone could have. I'm so grateful to them for being them.
So, onto the PARTAY......
I love LEGOS and CJ has a knack for them, too. So I asked her to build me a haunted house... We have some witch, wizard and skeleton lego peops and some awesome doodads and voila! I need to get some better closeup shots.
(and no, CJ was NOT a cowgirl, she's half B's costume, half her own!)

JD was a flapper - she looked so cute!

B was a cowgirl - she thought the vest was so cool, until I put the fringe on... freaked her right out! But now she loves to jump on her horsie and say "eehaaaw"

I've realized I'm not as good at taking people pictures as I had originally thought... what a loser am I?
The night was so much fun!
We ate dinner and let the kids get all dirty outside, then we setup for games. JD was all excited to be our moderator for the evening... she set up musical chairs..... wanted to do a fishing pond (no pole).... and something else that I can't remember right off...
Now if you think that this game is old fashioned, you gotta try it! The kids were absolutely loving it!!!!
It was the cutest thing to watch!
All of them were trying so hard to grab a chair!
We also made spider donuts.
The evening was so awesome! I loved hanging out with my friends and just letting the kids run around and enjoy each getting to know each other! Between the 4 of us, we have 10 kids and I LOVE IT!
