thursday july 2nd - bridal veil w/LinsLu

today we decided to visit bridal veil falls. i've been having this hike itch and just want to go go go. LinsLu came with us. i let the girls just run wild. feet wet, freedom, great!
Fin & Brynn hesitated a bit to get in.
i love this canyon! beautiful from any angle!
the falls are wonderful. i like it no matter how many times i see it.

then on our way home......

driving down the road i saw 4 little raccoon heads poke out of a storm drain. i immediately turned around to see them and had to figure out a way to save them... they'd surely be roadkill before long. the 4 little ones jumped out of the gutter and ran wild for a minute not knowing what on earth was going on. then the momma came out. as soon as she noticed i was watching, she bolted and the 4 little ones tried to follow but to no avail.

3 ran up this tree and one got cornered behind a bush.

they were so cute but i knew they couldn't just hang out there, so i called animal control. but when they got there, they said they couldn't do anything about it because they were up the tree... isn't that what animal control is for???? psh... anywho....

the guy that lived there said he had found 2 non-alive ones the week before... it seems they live in the storm drain and when the water level rises under the road, like today in the rain, they're doomed. sad thought. i just want them to go back to the mountains and live in peace. poor things! but they were so cute and the experience was amazing to see those 4 little babies with their momma...

hopefully everything works out...
